About the Chorus
The ASO Chorus is known for its precision and expressive singing quality.
The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus (ASOC) was founded in 1970 by former ASO Music Director Robert Shaw. An auditioned ensemble composed entirely of volunteers, the Chorus meets weekly for rehearsals and performs regularly with the ASO.
The ASO Chorus is known for its precision and expressive singing quality.
The ASO Chamber Chorus performs music of the Baroque and Classical eras, as well as works by modern masters.
Led by ASO Director of Choruses Norman Mackenzie, the ASO Chorus is known for its precision and expressive singing quality.
All audition slots for the 2024/25 season are now filled. Please check back in July 2025 for auditions for the 2025/26 season!
Robert Shaw was a national and international icon of the choral conducting profession, and he brought a contagious enthusiasm to his work.
