Biography
Dan Trahey is a musician, composer, educator, social entrepreneur and architect for socially conscious, artistically progressive, and genre bending music programs in the United States, South America, and Europe. He is highly sought after as an architect, consultant, and implementer of programs that use music as a vehicle for social change, and use creative youth voice and community voice as their foundations.
Dan has helped start El Sistema-inspired programs in places such as Charlotte, Chicago, Ft. Worth, Innsbruck, Allentown, Waterbury, Alexandria, Kalamazoo, and Miami. Dan also founded two programs in Baltimore Baltimore Symphony Orchestra's OrchKids and Tuned In at the Peabody Conservatory. In response to the global pandemic, Dan launched The Collective Conservatory, providing his dynamic and immersive music-making programs in a virtual setting to communities across the Nation. Dan holds a M.M. from Yale and a B.M.E from Peabody.
