Ellen Burke

Biography

Ellen Burke, MSW, LCSW-C, serves as the Project Odyssey Manager for Wounded Warrior Project's Washington, DC, and Atlanta offices. Project Odyssey is a no-cost 12-week mental health program for veterans that uses adventure-based learning to help warriors with PTSD and other mental health areas enhance their resiliency skills. Project Odyssey includes a five-day mental health workshop, during which warriors focus on developing coping skills through experiential learning including activities such as adventure courses, whitewater rafting, and art therapy.

Ellen has over 11 years of mental health experience working with adults in a variety of mental health treatment settings. Prior to working for Wounded Warrior Project, Ellen served as a clinical social worker in inpatient psychiatry and psychiatric emergency department settings.

Ellen holds a master's degree in social work and a bachelor's degree in communications, both from The University of Alabama.
