Biography

A versatile conductor, pianist, producer and arranger, Glenn Alexander II, is a rising star whose unique musicality spans multiple genres.

Glenn is the Conductor and Music Director for National US Tour of Anastasia the Broadway Musical. Glenn is also the Assistant Conductor of the Chicago Sinfonietta. Most Recently, Glenn made his Carnegie Hall debut conducting Academy Award winning composer Jon Batiste’s premier of “American Symphony” and also made his Lincoln Center debut with the American Composers Orchestra. Glenn also serves as a cover conductor at the Manhattan School of Music.

As a pianist he was awarded the opportunity to perform for Steinway & Sons President, Ron Losby, as a result of Prairie View A&M University becoming an "All-Steinway School." He also participated in piano masterclass with renowned pianist, Awadagin Pratt.

His recent collaborations have included the likes of Award Winning Composer Jon Batiste, Tamar-Kali, NYU and Teachers College, Columbia University. Not only is he heavily involved in classical music, Glenn recently co-produced a nationally renowned EP "Kim Cruse" and he’s also an accomplished gospel musician having served as a pianist and organist for many different congregations.

Glenn is a Conducting Fellow in the Chicago Sinfonietta’s renowned Project Inclusion Freeman Conducting Fellowship program under conductor Mei-Ann Chen. Glenn studied orchestral conducting at the Manhattan School of Music under George Manahan, he holds a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the Bard College Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Prairie View A&M University. His teachers and mentors include James Bagwell, Damien Sneed and Dr. Vicki A. Seldon. He is a brother of both Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America. He currently resides in New York City.
