Biography
Joseph Brown is a recent graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he earned his bachelor's degree in cello performance under the tutelage of Richard Weiss of the Cleveland Orchestra. His musical journey began at age 10, and by 13, he started private studies with Christopher Thibdeau.
Joseph’s early career highlights include his acceptance into the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's Talent Development Program (TDP), where he studied with cellist Karen Freer. He was also a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra (2015–2017), Georgia Youth Symphony Orchestra (2013–2014), and Emory Youth Symphony Orchestra (2016).
An avid participant in prestigious summer festivals, Joseph has attended the Interlochen Center for the Arts, Indiana University Summer String Academy, Brevard Music Center, Aspen Music Festival, and Miami Music Festival.
Now based in Atlanta, Joseph continues to refine his craft as a professional cellist, performing in various solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. He also enjoys teaching cello to students in the Atlanta area.
