Shelby Alfredson
Biography
Shelby Alfredson plays Second Bassoon with the Chattanooga Symphony and Opera and is a freelance bassoonist in the Atlanta area. She received both her A. D. and M. M. from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of William Winstead, long-time Principal bassoonist of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra; she also received her B. M. from Kennesaw State University while studying with Laura Najarian, Second Bassoonist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
She has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Dayton Philharmonic, Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, Springfield Symphony Orchestra, Queen City Opera, and Richmond Symphony Orchestra. She has been invited to and attended music festivals such as Hot Springs Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, and the Pierre Monteux School for Conductors and Orchestral Musicians.
