Tyler Landers is a freshman in the Norcross High School Wind Symphony under the direction of Mr. Lee Newman. He began playing the tuba at the age of 11 while attending Pinckneyville Middle School, where he was guided by his band director and mentor, Mr. Roland Ventura. In the seventh grade, he was selected first chair in the GMEA All-State Band and was selected a second time in the eighth grade. In the summer of 2022, Tyler was selected to participate in the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Talent Development Program. As a TDP fellow, he currently studies under the principal tubist of the ASO, Michael Moore.  

Through this program, Tyler has been exposed to many opportunities such as summer music festivals and performances. Additionally, Tyler has attended the University of Georgia Middle School Festival (MidFest), the Brevard Music Center Low Brass Seminar, and the International Euphonium-Tuba Festival, which led to working with various great tuba players, such as Øystein Baasvik, Cristina Cutts Dougherty, Dr. Cale Self, and Dr. Beth Weise. As an eighth grader, Tyler was an alternate in the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony and has been selected as a member of the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra.
