About

The ASO's UpTempo event is a dynamic preconcert session designed for middle and highschoolers. This evening, Dr. Brittan Braddock, Director of Bands at Mercer University, and Dr. Chris Schmitz, Professor of Music Theory and Composition at Mercer University will lead an insightful presentation on the profound impact of Mahler's First Symphony on classical music. The program will feature a performance by a student musician and an interactive Q&A. After the UpTempo event, you are invited to stay for the ASO's Season Opener classical performance at 8pm.

This event will take place in the Circle Room at the Woodruff Arts Center. The Circle Room is located on the 3rd floor of the Memorial Arts Building.

Please Note: The classical performance tickets are included with the UpTempo ticket purchase, but tickets are not distributed until the end of the UpTempo event. Attending the UpTempo event is required to secure tickets for the ASO concert.

Yesterday, the @woodruffcenter broke ground on a new project to transform the Rich Theatre on campus into a revolutionary new stage and play space designed for children and families to experience the arts in a brand new way. The Goizueta Stage for Youth and Families will feature accessible, family-friendly programming curated by us and our friends at the @alliancetheatre to give our youth a fresh place to dream and imagine.
